Theresa Troise-Heidel is a graduate of Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City and undertook graduate studies at the Academia delle Belli Arti in Florence, Italy. Theresa has taught watercolor at the Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, New Jersey as well as conducting workshops and offering watercolor demonstrations. Primarily painting on location, Theresa’s watercolors reflect a love of architecture and keen understanding of light and atmosphere.
Troise-Heidel has been invited to be artist in residence on the Queen Mary 2 for a cruise to Norway. The editors of American Artist Magazine chose her as one of twenty emerging watercolorists across the nation in the 2006 fall issue of Watercolor Magazine. She has also been elected to the New Jersey Watercolor Society and appointed second Vice President.
Theresa's watercolor, "Rockport Light", was accepted in "Celebrate Watercolor 2008", the annual juried exhibition of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. The exhibition was on view from May 17 until July 24, 2008 at Bloomington Art Center in Bloomington, Minnesota and represented artists from across the United States and Canada.
Theresa’s paintings have been featured in Jersey Shore Vacation Magazine & Map, Jersey Shore Magazine & Guide, Jersey Shore Home and Garden, the cover of the 1995 Monmouth County Cancer Society Ad Book Journal as well as advertisements of the Monmouth County Tourism Board. Fifty-six of her watercolors have been published in the books: To the Shore Once More, Volumes I and II and Long Beach Island Rhapsody. Troise-Heidel’s artwork was also featured in the December, 1989, “Watercolor Page” of American Artist Magazine.
